Recap: Omaha R Roadrunners vs. Varsity Opponent
The Omaha R Roadrunners were the 51-35 winner over Varsity Opponent when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. Omaha R fell 48-41 to Varsity Opponent on Thursday.
Despite the loss, Omaha R saw an underclassman step up: Stephen Vankat scored 25 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 steals. Vankat scored a full 61% of Omaha R's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Omaha R's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Varsity Opponent, the last time they lost on the road was back back in October. Having now won seven straight away matchups, they've pushed their record up to 106-390-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Omaha R will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Mary's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Varsity Opponent is on the road again on Thursday and play against KIPP University Prep at 8:00 p.m. on December 7th. KIPP University Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 187 points over their last three games.
