Baseball Recap: Shalom Christian Academy Flames vs. Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers
Shalom Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers. That's more bragging rights for the Flames, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Drake Wenger was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wenger was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Will Turner was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, six RBI, and four runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Ethan Brechbill was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
This is the second loss in a row for Cumberland Valley Christian and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Looking ahead, Shalom Christian Academy is taking a road trip to square off against Mount Calvary Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cumberland Valley Christian, they will square off against Calvary Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
