Recap: Durant Cougars vs. Plant City Raiders

The Plant City Raiders typically have all the answers at home, but on Thursday the Durant Cougars proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 56-45 victory over the Raiders. The win made it back-to-back wins for Durant.

Durant's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wylde Correa led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Correa hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Juan Lopez, who scored 15 points along with six assists and two steals.

Plant City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gavin Tinsley, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Tinsley has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamin Andrews, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Durant's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Plant City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 20-6 record this season.

Durant will head out on the road to take on Winter Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Winter Haven will roll in looking for their 24th straight victory, something Durant surely won't give up without a fight. Plant City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
