Softball Recap: Wapahani Comes Up Short

Wapahani extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They lost 20-5 to Shenandoah. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Wapahani has suffered against Shenandoah since May 22, 2017.

Briley Kahalekomo was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

As for Shenandoah, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Shenandoah's side, the team relied heavily on Reese Sprunger, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Aleyna Sharritts, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Coming up, Wapahani will challenge New Castle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Shenandoah, they will square off against Hagerstown at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
