After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Maywood Academy, George Washington Prep was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 23-20 victory over the Dymally Challengers. For the Generals, this counts as revenge for the 20-19 win the Challengers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
George Washington Prep got a massive performance out of Holland Allen, who scored six runs and stole two bases while getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Allen has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Varela, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of her seven plate appearances.
George Washington Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.8 runs over those games. As for Dymally, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
