Softball Recap: Desert Oasis Takes a Loss

Desert Oasis was the 11-0 winner over Southeast Career Tech when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Diamondbacks fell 10-5 to the Roadrunners on Wednesday. The Diamondbacks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Veyda Simon was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. She is also on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Cassidy Infante also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Desert Oasis' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Southeast Career Tech, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Oasis will venture away from home to challenge Las Vegas at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Diamondbacks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 15.2 runs per game this season. As for Southeast Career Tech, they are taking a road trip to take on Mojave at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rattlers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.55 runs per game on average), something the Roadrunners will no doubt try to take advantage of.
