Basketball Recap: Cardinal Stritch Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Cardinal Stritch challenged Vanlue on Tuesday. The Cardinal Stritch Cardinals fell just short of the Vanlue Wildcats by a score of 61-58. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by exactly three points.

Vanlue's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Owen Roszman led the charge by dropping a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds Roszman has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brady Hamilton, who scored 15 points.

Cardinal Stritch dropped their record down to 4-16 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Vanlue, their record is now 3-18.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cardinal Stritch will challenge Toledo Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Vanlue, they will take on Arcadia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
