Dayton came out on top against Humble on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Broncos took their matchup against the Wildcats 9-6. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Conner Lucus made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Lucus was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Hunter Wallace was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Zak Wood, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Dayton's record is now 2-0. As for Humble, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Dayton will face off against King at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Humble, they will challenge Lake Creek at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
