Traip has gone a perfect 9-0 against Buckfield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Rangers will square off against the Bucks at 4:00 p.m. Traip is looking for their season's first win.
Waynflete hit Traip with a four-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rangers came up short against the Flyers, falling 12-1.
Traip saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Balano, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Buckfield). They put the hurt on Rangeley Lakes with a sharp 13-3 victory on Saturday. The Bucks haven't had any issues with the Lakers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Nolan Litchfield was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Ryder Bragg, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one run.
Buckfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rangeley Lakes only posted an OBP of .333.
Buckfield's record is now 2-3. As for Traip, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Buckfield's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Traip has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .431. It's a different story for Buckfield, though, as they've only averaged .355. Will they be able to contain Traip's hitters?
Everything went Traip's way against Buckfield in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Traip made off with a 9-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
