Baseball Recap: Martin Takes a Loss

Martin had lost six straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 9-16-1 to make it seven. They lost 6-0 to the Arlington Colts. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colts apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Arlington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-11. Give their pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

For Arlington's part, the result came thanks to Danny Bustamante's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks. Bustamante has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jeremiah Taylor, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

While Martin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
