It's playoff time, and Cox Mill had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mooresville Blue Devils 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Chargers sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Cox Mill took Mooresville into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-18, 25-18, 16-25, 15-13.
Jordyn Gray paced Cox Mill's offense, picking up 25 kills. Gray got some help from Alaina Walker and her 25 assists. Romey Gaeta controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Cox Mill's win bumped their record up to 27-1. As for Mooresville, their loss dropped their record down to 20-7.
Coming up, Cox Mill will square off against Marvin Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mooresville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
