Baseball Game Preview: Vashon Island Pirates vs. Klahowya Eagles

Vashon Island hasn't had much luck against Klahowya recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Pirates will take on the Eagles at 3:45 p.m.

Vashon Island managed to slip by Charles Wright the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pirates lost 11-0 to the Tarriers on Monday. The Pirates just can't catch a break and have now endured seven losses in a row.

Vashon Island saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Gallez, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Gallez has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Klahowya had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Vashon Island's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Klahowya, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.

Vashon Island beat Klahowya 9-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
