Volleyball Game Preview: Whitwell Tigers vs. Sale Creek Panthers

Whitwell is 0-10 against Sale Creek since September of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Sale Creek will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Whitwell extended their winning streak to five on Thursday. The Tigers blew past South Pittsburg 3-0.

Meanwhile, Sale Creek made easy work of Rhea County on Monday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-15, 31-29.

Sale Creek's win came from a few key players Whitwell will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Callie Lacheney, who had 15 digs and three aces. Those three aces gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chelsea Levi, who had 12 digs, five kills, and four aces.

Whitwell's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Sale Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 18-7.
