Basketball Recap: Plainfield South Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Plainfield South lost against Yorkville back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars fell 60-48 to the Foxes.

Despite the loss, Plainfield South still got an impressive performance from Layla Lesure, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was La'Niya Willis, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.

Plainfield South's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-4. As for Yorkville, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plainfield South will host Plainfield East at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars will be up against the Bengals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Yorkville, they will be home for the holidays to greet Oswego East at 6:30 p.m. on the 18th.
