Baseball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Arkansas City Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 on Tuesday.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Arkansas City, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newton will take on Derby on Tuesday. As for Arkansas City, they will square off against Valley Center at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
