Basketball Recap: Latham Fields and Tiberius Fields Secure Win for Stuart Hall

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blue Ridge, Stuart Hall was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 73-65 win over the St. Anne's-Belfield Saints. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Saints are ranked 102nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Stuart Hall to victory were Tiberius Fields and Latham Fields. Tiberius shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds, while Latham shot 54% from the field en route to 17 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Tiberius is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Wade Bland was another key player, putting up four points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Stuart Hall smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, St. Anne's-Belfield still got an impressive performance from Jayden Brown, who posted 23 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Axel Iturbe, who put up eight points and three steals.

Stuart Hall's record now sits at 5-1. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Stuart Hall didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 79-71 victory against Mercersburg Academy on the 13th. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, they have also already played their next contest, a 92-55 defeat against Blue Ridge on the 16th.
