Soccer Game Preview: Righetti vs. Santa Maria

Righetti hasn't had much luck against Santa Maria recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Righetti Warriors will be playing at home against the Santa Maria Saints at 6:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Righetti is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Pioneer Valley. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by just one goal.

Their goal came courtesy of Isaiah Torres, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Santa Maria came up short against Arroyo Grande on Friday and fell 3-1.

Santa Maria's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-8-2. As for Righetti, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-4-4.

Righetti beat Santa Maria 5-3 in their previous matchup back in January. Does Righetti have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Maria turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
