Franklin Central hadn't done well against Brownsburg recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, the Flashes made off with a 52-51 victory over the Bulldogs. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Payton Duvall was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds. What's more, she racked up six blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlee Baker, who posted 11 points.

Despite the loss, Brownsburg still got an impressive performance from Elle Mcculloch, who shot 46% from the field to rack up 18 points. With that strong performance, Mcculloch is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Ava Emberton also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Franklin Central's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-3. As for Brownsburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin Central will be taking part in a tournament against Speedway at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Flashes will be up against the Sparkplugs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Brownsburg, they will face off against Columbus North at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' defense better be ready for this one: the Bull Dogs have averaged an impressive 62.3 points per game this season.
