Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Mount De Sales Academy's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Mount de Sales Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Catholic on Tuesday. The Sailors never let Catholic get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. Considering the Sailors have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Olivia Ross, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Olivia Berger was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Mount de Sales Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Catholic, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Mount de Sales Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Catholic: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
