North Mesquite came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Hillcrest Panthers a 4-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Stallions, who have now won 11 games by three goals or more so far this season.

North Mesquite pushed their record up to 15-5-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those eight contests. As for Hillcrest, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-4-1.

Coming up, North Mesquite is taking a road trip to take on Sunset at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Mesquite knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Sunset likes a good challenge. Hillcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
