Basketball Recap: Centreville Comes Up Short

If Centreville was riding high fresh off their 62-35 takedown of Comstock last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Centreville Bulldogs took a 61-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hartford Huskies on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 59-50.

Centreville's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 16-1 and their overall record down to 17-3. As for Hartford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.

Centreville and Hartford should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Centreville (ranked 217th) will meet Cassopolis (ranked 458th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Centreville sitting on three straight victories and Hartford on six. Similarly, Hartford will take on Bloomingdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 349 places (234 vs. 583).
