Volleyball Recap: Knightdale Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Knightdale managed to slip by Smithfield-Selma the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Knights came up short against the Spartans on Monday, falling 3-0. The Knights' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-21, 25-9.

Smithfield-Selma's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylie Gilyardi, who had seven kills and five aces. Those five aces gave Gilyardi a new career-high. Karmen Cyrus was another key player, getting 13 assists and three aces.

Knightdale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Smithfield-Selma, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Knightdale has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Wake Forest on the 9th. As for Smithfield-Selma, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Fuquay - Varina on the 9th.
