Basketball Recap: Lyons-Decatur Northeast Takes a Loss

Lyons-Decatur Northeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 63-32 defeat at the hands of the Wisner-Pilger Gators. The Cougars were down 44-22 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Lyons-Decatur Northeast still got an impressive performance from Tavyanna Parker, who posted six points along with seven boards and five blocks. The dominant performance gave Parker a new career-high in blocks. Another player making a difference was Samantha Roth, who put up nine points.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Wisner-Pilger, their win bumped their record up to 8-11.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wisner-Pilger, they will challenge Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.
