Baseball Recap: Bishop Ready Takes a Loss

Bishop Ready was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 13-5 to the Columbus Academy Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-4 on Monday.

Brendan Long and Kasen Abbott did some serious damage despite the final result: Long went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Abbott went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Bishop Ready's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Columbus Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Ready will face off against Buckeye Valley at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Barons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Silver Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Columbus Academy, they will take on Franklin Heights at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
