Softball Game Preview: Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners vs. Bangor Christian Patriots

Deer Isle-Stonington and Bangor Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Mariners will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Deer Isle-Stonington has given up an average of 11.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Deer Isle-Stonington after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 12-2 to Bangor Christian. The Mariners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Naomi Duke made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Lexie Smith also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Bangor Christian dropped their record down to 4-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Deer Isle-Stonington, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
