Baseball Game Preview: La Jolla Country Day Torreys vs. Bishop's Knights

For the second straight game, La Jolla Country Day will face off against Bishop. The Torreys will take on the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (La Jolla Country Day 3.6, Bishop's 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

La Jolla Country Day is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Bishop's 13-2 on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Torreys considering their two-run performance the game before.

Elias Hanley tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

At the plate, Santino Grasso was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Mitch Circuit was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.

La Jolla Country Day always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

La Jolla Country Day pushed their record up to 11-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop's, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6-1.
