Baseball Game Preview: Thomas Dale Knights vs. Clover Hill Cavaliers

The Thomas Dale Knights will head out on the road to take on the Clover Hill Cavaliers at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Thomas Dale barely beat Hopewell the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 18-2 victory on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won six contests in a row dating back to last season.

Thomas Dale got a massive performance out of Garrett Spears, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Spears a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordan Brown, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Clover Hill sidestepped Patrick Henry for a 3-2 victory. That's two games straight that the Cavaliers have won by just one run.

Owen Tingen was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Andrew Brownie also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Thomas Dale's record now sits at 2-0. As for Clover Hill, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Thomas Dale couldn't quite get it done against Clover Hill in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 as they fell 5-1. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
