Preview: Blue Ridge Raiders vs. Forest City Foresters
The Blue Ridge Raiders are on the road again on Thursday and plays the Forest City Foresters at 6:45 p.m. on February 8th. One thing working in Blue Ridge's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
Even though Susquehanna scored an imposing 65 points on Monday, Blue Ridge still came out on top. Blue Ridge walked away with a 77-65 win over Susquehanna. Given Blue Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Susquehanna is ranked 633rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Forest City lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Monday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by Mid Valley on the road and fell 67-28. Forest City was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-15.
Blue Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Forest City, they dropped their record down to 4-15 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Blue Ridge took their victory against Forest City in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 83-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for Blue Ridge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
