Football Recap: Valley Christian Drops Season-High Score on Seton Catholic

Valley Christian's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 48-38 win over the Seton Catholic Sentinels. The Trojans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Austin Schuder went supernova, rushing for 166 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 250 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Caleb Goldman also helped out as he racked up 111 rushing yards.

Seton Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Coree Edwards, who rushed for 147 yards and three scores. Edwards was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 61 yards. RJ Fogerty was in the mix as well, providing Seton Catholic with two touchdowns.

Valley Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Seton Catholic, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Valley Christian and Seton Catholic will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Trojans see the field they'll take on Odyssey Institute at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Seton Catholic, their break will end when they face River Valley at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
