There's no place like home for Scott County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Bryan Station Defenders on Tuesday as they made off with a 7-1 win. Considering the Cardinals have won 15 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ada Little spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lauren Jones was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Makiah Jackson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Scott County's victory bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Bryan Station, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 14-5 record.
Scott County and Bryan Station should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. The Cardinals (ranked sixth) will meet Henry Clay (ranked 95th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Bryan Station will challenge Paul Laurence Dunbar at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (13 vs. 163).
