Cheylin snaps seven-game streak of wins at home

The Cheylin Cougars were the 52-44 winner over the Wichita County Indians when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Cheylin took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wichita County on Monday. It was the first time this season that Cheylin let down their fans at home.
Defeat or not, Cheylin got some senior leadership from Logan McCarty and Pablo Bermudez. McCarty dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Bermudez. scored 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That was a full 44% of Cheylin's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Cheylin's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Wichita County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Cheylin won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Western Plains on January 23rd. Wichita County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ulysses at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Ulysses is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
