Softball Recap: Dearborn Has No Trouble Against Clarenceville

Dearborn never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past the Clarenceville Trojans 16-0. The contest marked the Pioneers' most dominant victory of the season.

Kaitlyn Ruselink was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ruselink was also big at the plate, earning two RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Madison Shoff and Niveen Sleiman did most of the damage at the plate: Shoff got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Sleiman went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Sleiman has posted since back in April. Aubrie Morgan was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.

Dearborn's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-21-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Clarenceville, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-23.

As of now, neither Dearborn nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
