Baseball Recap: Stockdale Extends Winning Streak to Six

Stockdale entered their tilt with Fresno on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Andres Ochoa tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brayden Gutierrez, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Ryder, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Stockdale's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Fresno, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Stockdale will be taking part in a tournament against Clovis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fresno, they will take on Crater in a tournament on Tuesday.
