Basketball Recap: Malcolm Starts off Right with Win over Plattsmouth

Malcolm had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Plattsmouth Blue Devils as the Malcolm Clippers made off with a 47-27 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Clippers also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.

Malcolm found their leader in freshman Payton Dolliver, who went 8 for 18 on her way to 17 points in addition to five steals and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Broders, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Plattsmouth lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mila Wehrbein, who had 11 points and three steals. That's the most steals Wehrbein has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jolie Dix, who put up five points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Malcolm wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-19 victory against Auburn on the 6th. As for Plattsmouth, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-52 win against Mercy on the 7th.
