Recap: Sandhills Valley Mavericks vs. Twin Loup Wolves
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Loup, the Sandhills Valley Mavericks were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They took down Twin Loup 50-36. For Sandhills Valley, this counts as revenge for the 39-24 loss Twin Loup walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Sandhills Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leyton Connell, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Isaac Goosey was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Sandhills Valley now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Twin Loup, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandhills Valley will take on Hyannis at TBD on Tuesday. Hyannis is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games. As for Twin Loup, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Anselmo-Merna. Anselmo-Merna is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
