Softball Game Preview: Norristown Eagles vs. Spring-Ford Rams

Norristown is 0-10 against Spring-Ford since March of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Eagles will take on the Rams at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Norristown barely beat Pottstown the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 17-7 victory on Thursday. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Spring-Ford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Boyertown by a score of 9-6 on Thursday. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Norristown is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Spring-Ford, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Norristown might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Spring-Ford when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
