Soccer Game Preview: Ponaganset vs. North Smithfield

The Ponaganset Chieftains will square off against the North Smithfield Northmen at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ponaganset is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.6 goals per game this season.

North Smithfield will have to contend with a Ponaganset squad hungry for a win, something the team hasn't seen since September 22. Ponaganset and Burrillville finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Saturday.

Katie Damiano and Jenna Papa scored both of the Chieftains' goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, North Smithfield managed to keep up with North Providence until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Northmen lost 4-1 to the Cougars. The defeat continues a trend for North Smithfield in their meetings with North Providence: they've now lost four in a row.

North Smithfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-13-2. Ponaganset's draw makes their record 3-10-3 this season.
