Volleyball Recap: Concordia Snags 17th Victory in Last 19 Games

Concordia won the last time they faced Bergan Catholic and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mustangs walked away with a 3-1 win over the Knights.

Concordia had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-11.

Concordia got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alyse Moulton out in front who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most digs Moulton has posted over her last seven matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra McNair, who had 17 digs and five assists.

Bergan Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoe Janke, who had 24 digs and two aces. Janke has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Keira Schmidt, who had 16 digs and three aces.

Concordia has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record this season. As for Bergan Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 20-12.

Looking ahead, Concordia will take on Lakeview at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Bergan Catholic, they will head out to face off against Weeping Water at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
