St. Luke came tearing into Wednesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 21-6 margin over the Rye Country Day Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Storm, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lucia Biasotti was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Ellie Fatsi was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lucy Millones, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

St. Luke's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in eight consecutive games.

St. Luke's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games. As for Rye Country Day, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
