Softball Recap: La Serna Comes Up Short

La Serna was the 5-3 winner over Sonora when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The La Serna Lancers fell 6-1 to the Sonora Raiders on Tuesday. The loss was the Lancers' first of the season.

La Serna got a good showing from Karina Torres, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Torres has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned runs any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, La Serna saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mikaela Galicia, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, La Serna fell to 2-1. As for Sonora, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, La Serna will be playing at home against Long Beach Poly at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sonora, they will head out on the road to square off against Mariposa County at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
