Soccer Recap: Deridder Sets Scoring Season-High Against Washington-Marion

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask DeRidder). Their defense stepped up to hand the Washington-Marion Charging Indians an 11-0 shutout on Tuesday. Give the Dragons' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

DeRidder has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those 12 contests. As for Washington-Marion, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12-1 record this season.

DeRidder will take on St. Louis Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. DeRidder knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully St. Louis Catholic likes a good challenge. As for Washington-Marion, they will head out on the road to square off against South Beauregard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
