Basketball Recap: Holliday Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Holliday waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 57-40 victory over the Vernon Lions. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Lions are ranked 802nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Holliday's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Vernon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Holliday and Vernon will both be playing Henrietta the next time they take the court. The Eagles will host the Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
