Basketball Game Preview: Highland Hornets vs. Hudson Explorers

The Highland Hornets will wrap up 2025 with a road trip to face off against the Hudson Explorers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland has given up an average of 57.4 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Highland was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-54 to Norton. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Panthers are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Hudson waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Rough Riders with a sharp 57-31 win. The Explorers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 24 points or more this season.

Hudson's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.

Highland beat Hudson 57-46 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
