Softball Recap: Liberty Tech Magnet Comes Up Short

Liberty Tech Magnet extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-8 in the process. They took a 30-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fayette Ware Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-5 back in March.

As for Fayette Ware, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-16. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Fayette Ware's part, they got a massive performance out of Zoie Young, who got on base in five of her seven plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Young a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rebekah Thompson, who got on base in six of her seven plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Liberty Tech Magnet will square off against Middleton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fayette Ware, they will face off against Bolivar Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
