Baseball Recap: Vanguard College Prep Gets the Win

While Vanguard College Prep's win against Veritas Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings won by a run and slipped past Veritas Academy 4-3. The Vikings haven't had any issues with Veritas Academy recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Drew Howard was excellent, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Vanguard College Prep is 3-1 when Howard posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-7 otherwise. Noah Gray was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Vanguard College Prep's record now sits at 3-8. As for Veritas Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Vanguard College Prep and Veritas Academy will both be playing Round Rock Christian Academy the next time they take the field. The Vikings will head out to face the Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Veritas Academy will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on April 13.
