Baseball Recap: Maryville Christian Comes Up Short

Maryville Christian extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-11 in the process. They came up short against the Father McGivney Catholic Griffins, falling 14-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Griffins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-0 on Tuesday.

As for Father McGivney Catholic, the victory was the 22nd in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games.

For Father McGivney Catholic's part, Ben Sink made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Sink a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
