Recap: Chaminade Eagles vs. Crespi Celts
The Chaminade Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 80-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crespi. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (71), Chaminade still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Chaminade still got an impressive performance from Bryce Goldman, who shot 6-for-12 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 35 points and 11 rebounds. Goldman is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Jonas Thurman was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds.
Crespi found their leader in underclassman Joe Sterling, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. Sterling hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton White, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Chaminade's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Crespi, their win bumped their record up to 19-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chaminade will take on Notre Dame (SO) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Notre Dame (SO) has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,705 points over their last 21 games. As for Crespi, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Loyola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Loyola is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
