League recap: Koch breaks off league-leading run for Mill Valley

Logan Koch of Mill Valley ran for the longest rushing play in Kaw Valley this season against Turner last week. Koch's team bested the Golden Bears as he sprinted for 73 yards on the play and finished with 220 in all.

Koch and Cole Morris provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Turner. The connection was good for 65 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.

Trevon Mason was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 247 yards on 29 carries as Bonner Springs beat Jeremy Milne's team. Jordan Jackson also contributed to the rushing game with 196 yards on the ground.

Tanner Eikenbary put up the best numbers in passing as Piper defeated Basehor-Linwood. He finished with a total of 9 completions for 89 yards and 2 touchdowns. Eikenbary's favorite target this week was Jake Jones, who caught 3 passes for 64 yards.

Koch provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Joel Applebee's team bested the Golden Bears. Koch's key target this week was Morris, who caught 5 passes for 122 yards.

Mason was a beast in the backfield as the Braves defeated Lansing.

Morris was the best receiver in Kaw Valley this week as the Jaguars beat Turner.

The Lions' 5-foot-10 quarterback Krystian Abbott is the league leader in passing yards this season with 335. The leading receiver in the league this season is SIRR GREEN. The Turner star has 22 catches for 220 yards.

Next week's game between Lansing and the Golden Bears will feature a good passing match up as Abbott will test his arm against Vincent John's defensive ability.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Tonganoxie takes on the Pirates. The Chieftains are in first place, while Piper is in fourth place.

Mill Valley moved up to 28 from 57 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Jaguars were able to make move up by besting Turner 48-7.
