Football Recap: Keyser Falls to Pendleton County in First Game of Season

Keyser had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost to the Pendleton County Wildcat on the road by a 48-34 margin on Friday. The matchup was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Golden Tornado couldn't quite close it out.

Pendleton County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Travis Owens, who picked up 133 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those 133 receiving yards gave Owens a new career-high. Chase Owens also helped out as he racked up 177 receiving yards.

Keyser wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 49-8 win against Lewis County on the 5th. As for Pendleton County, they have also already played their next game, a 56-36 victory against East Hardy on the 5th.
