Football Recap: Keyser Falls to Pendleton County in First Game of Season

Keyser had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. The match between the Golden Tornado and the Pendleton County Wildcat didn't end well, with the Golden Tornado falling 48-34. The game was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Golden Tornado couldn't quite close it out.

Pendleton County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Travis Owens, who picked up 133 receiving yards and three TDs. Those 133 receiving yards gave Owens a new career-high. Chase Owens was another key pass catcher, picking up 177 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keyser will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Lewis County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pendleton County, they will host East Hardy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Wildcat's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
