Softball Game Preview: Franklin Road Academy Panthers vs. The Webb School Feet

Franklin Road Academy is 9-1 against The Webb School since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Panthers will challenge the Feet at 4:30 p.m. Franklin Road Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Franklin Road Academy took on Middle Tennessee Christian on Wednesday. The Panthers never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won five in a row.

Middle Tennessee Christian's batters probably weren't too happy with Millie Pardue, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Pardue has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maillie Fuson, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, The Webb School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Grace Christian Academy, falling 10-2.

Franklin Road Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for The Webb School, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Franklin Road Academy took their win against The Webb School in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 16-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
